Active in the sector for forty-five years, Çelebi's first venture into the business involved just a boarding stair and five workers that were employed in providing ground handling services. Today it has become a group of companies whose members provide service and undertake investments in a number of areas.

With forty-five years of experience to back it up, Çelebi Group companies serve customers in a variety of businesses such as ground handling services, security, tourism, personnel transport, vehicle rental, and fast-food. Çelebi Holding Inc. was set up in 1995 to provide centralized coordination among the rapidly-growing companies of the Group in the areas of basic functions and investments while also adding new companies to the Group as circumstances warranted.

Founded in 1958 by Ali Cavit Çelebioğlu as Turkey's first privately-owned ground handling company, by 2002 Çelebi Ground Handling Inc., was employing 2,500 personnel at 9 locations to handle 45,700 aircraft, 11 million passengers, and 68,000 tons of cargo a year. Today Çelebi Ground Handling ranks among Europe's biggest ground handling companies. The great efforts that it has made in the past and the level of success it has achieved today have made the Company a model pointed to in many European countries where consideration is being given to privatizing ground handling services.

Founded in 1973 with an approach to service designed to bring basic tourism functions together within a panoply of products and services as broad as possible, Çelebi Turizm pursues its activities today backed by thirty years of experience.

In an industry such as civil aviation, punctuality and quality are issues of the utmost importance. In 1974 the Çelebi Group set up Çe-Tur Çelebi Turizm Ticaret A.Ş. to provide ground transportation services for the flight crews of domestic and foreign airlines. Today, Çe-Tur employs 50 personnel in 500 vehicles to provide high-quality and reliable transportation services to international airlines as well as to other private companies and schools. In 1996 Çe-Tur added vehicle rentals to its service line. Today the Company is at the service of customers with a fleet of 120 automobiles.

Always innovative and quick to spot market opportunities, Çe-Tur is the first company in Turkey to provide motorcycle rent services to the fast food industry with a fleet of 80 motorcycles.

1996 was also the year in which the Çelebi Group began putting its decades of experience in providing high-quality, reliable service to work in the fast-food sector as well. Two important steps were taken in this direction. The first was the formation of a food company whose initial purpose was to own and operate the Turkish franchises of Arby's, the world's biggest chain of roast-beef restaurants with more than 3,200 outlets all over the world. The second was another company's opening in May 1997 what is planned to be an extensive chain of Little Caesar's restaurants, the world's third biggest pizza franchise.

In 1997 the Çelebi Group set up Çelebi Güvenlik Sistemleri ve Danışmanlık A.Ş., a private security and surveillance consultancy and agency for aircraft and airports under Turkey's Airport Civil Aviation Regulations (SHY-22). As the first independent company to provide service in this area in Turkey, the Çelebi Group was the author of yet another first in Turkish civil aviation. Çelebi Güvenlik today successfully provides security services not only at airports but also for other organizations.

With its lineup of services companies and more than three thousand employees, Çelebi Holding is a Turkish company that looks confidently into the future. Aware that achieving solid growth is possible only by being absolutely committed to high-quality, reliable service, the Çelebi Group believes that the sustainability of its success is dependent upon supporting its employees wherever possible and encouraging their personal development through training.

For Çelebi, "Reliable service" is the watchword...
